Notes for THOMAS CRANOR WAY:
Thomas was elected Constable of Big Valley Township, Siskiyou, California on February 24, 1872, but he and Mary spent most of their life in the area running a stage stop on the road from Yreka, California to Klamath Falls, Oregon.  The "Way Station" was located near the Way Cemetery on Topsy Grade Road, just north of the California line in Klamath Co., Oregon.  He is buried there.

Notes for MARY POLLY ROBINETT:
Mary was married first to William Cyrus, Jr. in 1863 in Lynn Co., Oregon. Unknown whether she was widowed or divorced. Married second to Thomas Way, and after his death, she married  Dr. John Plimell.  Dr. Plimell is buried in the Henly-Hornbrook Cemetery in Hornbrook, Siskiyou, California.  Mary was listed in 1900 census in Klamath County, Oregon with Thomas and granddaughter C.M. Stough, aged 15.  It states she and Thomas had been married 35 years and had 7 children, 6 still living.

Mary's obituary from Bandon's "Western World", Thursday, August 9, 1923, pg. 3 column 4:

"Mrs. Mary E. Plimell died at the home of her son, G.C. Way, in this city, Saturday evening, August 4, 1923, aged 74 years, 10 months and 27 days.  She was born in the state of Missouri on September 7, 1848, and came to Oregon in 1849, her parents making the trip by ox-team over the old Oregon trail. She lived till young womanhood near where Lebanon now stands, going from there to Lake County, California, where she was married to T.C. Way.
Seven children were born to this union, four of whom survive her; G.C. Way of Bandon, Ore.; Mrs. Nellie Ashbaugh, Cottonwood, Calif.; Mrs. Gussie Frain, Beswick, Calif.; Mrs. Ollie Hale, Samoa, Calif.
Mr. Way died in 1905 and four years later his widow was married to Dr. Plimell who died in 1919.
At twelve years of age Mrs. Plimell was converted and became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.  She was a consistent Christian, a loving mother, a kind and generous friend and neighbor and endeared herself to all who knew her.
She leaves besides four children, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren to mourn her loss.
Funeral services were conducted at the Ellingsen Undertaking Parlors by Rev. A.B. Reese, Wednesday, August the 8th, at 2 p.m.  Interment was made in the Oddfellows Cemetery."

Edward was murdered in Yreka. He is buried in the Way Cemetery on Topsy Grade Road in Klamath Co., Oregon, just north of the California line.  He had married second on October 24, 1898, Irene Wood.  He is also listed on the Oregon Death Index as dying in Klamath County, Oregon on October 15, 1916.

In 1905, George was a blacksmith and the constable of Plevna precinct, Klamath County.
George's obituary, from 'Western World' in Bandon, Oregon, Thurs. November 10, 1938:
"George C. Way, who for a number of years had been engaged as janitor for the local high school, passed away at his home in east Bandon Mon, Nov. 7, 1938, after a lingering illness.  He was 69 years nine months two days of age.  Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, Wednesday, Nov. 9, with Schroder Bros. Mortuary in charge, the Rev. Miss Ayres conducting the ceremony.  Interment was in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Deceased was born at Lakeport, Calif., February 8, 1869.  He is survived by his widow and one daughter Katherine Way, of this city.
Out of town relatives who came for the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Ashbaugh of Maxwell, Calif., the latter being a sister of the deceased; Mr. & Mrs. Lester Lederer of Willows, Calif., and Mrs. Lena Cavin of Hornbrook, Calif.  Mrs. Lederer and Mrs. Cavin are nieces of the deceased."

Lucy's obituary from 'Western World', Bandon, Oregon, Thursday March 11, 1948:
"Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bandon for Mrs. Lucy E. Way, 72, who died at the R.V. Leep Memorial Hospital last Thursday, the Rev. C.L. Nichols of the Church of God officiated.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Bandon.
Deceased was born February 8, 1876, at Yreka, California.  She died at the age of 72 years, 25 days.  She was married to George C. Way at Chico, Calif. January 14, 1893.  They came to Bandon from Keno, Oregon about 41 years ago.
Mrs. Way was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in 1938.  She and her daughter Miss Katherine Way have made their home in east Bandon for a number of years.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Katherene Way, Bandon; a sister Mrs. Ruth M. Rice, Redding, Calif., two brothers, Lee H. Doten, Merril; and Daniel R. Doten, Keno; a nephew, Merle Manning, Brownsville; and a niece, Mrs. Margaret Yoder, Eugene."

"Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Bandon Chapel of Coos Mortuaries for 80 year old Katherine Way Tosten of Bandon, who died July 4, in Coos Bay.  She was born Nov. 25, 1893 in Oregon and was a long time resident of Bandon, making her home near the Bandon Heights School in east Bandon.
She is survived by the widower, David Tosten of Port Orford.
Rick Applegate of Faith Baptist Church officiated, with internment following at the IOOF Cemetery."
Her funeral record states she died at Fircrest Nursing Home in Coos Bay.
